May Food Drive

For the Month of May, we’re encouraging people to support our local food banks.

Two way to do this are:
– Donate what you can to Feed The Need Durham. These funds help them get food to food banks, and then to homes and tables.
– Collect food in your neighbourhood (or supply your own from shopping) and drop it off to Feed the Need Durham anytime this month.

Together we can make a difference in people’s homes this month.

Running4Home “VIRTUAL edition”

COVID-19 is not stopping this year’s run. May 30, or anytime that weekend, you can run to help raise funds for some wonderful charities that are close to our heart: Daughter Project & Their Opportunity.

Two ways to register:
– Online through our website
– Send us $30 ($25 for students, $80 for a family rate) to giving@thevillagewhitby.ca (follow that up with an email confirming your name an address from the e-transfer)

Then all you gotta do is run or walk on May 30, 8am, or anytime that weekend. Send us or post a photo if you can, so we can celebrate those who participated.

T-shirts will be given to all participants, one month after the race. There will be a pick up location for you to get it or mailed for those who couldn’t make the pick up time.

we’re on YOUTUBE every Sunday at 10:30am

If you don’t know, we gather every Sunday on Youtube.
Hope to see you there.

What a wild ride we’re all on. Even though we’ve been into this Pandemic for a number of weeks, it still feels surreal. We have resolved to make the best of this situation; to be creative, to be awake and alert, to be looking for opportunities to make a difference in whatever way we can.

There are two words that we want to focus on during this season: Connection & Compassion.
We will do whatever we can to stay connected with one another.
We will show compassion: which means doing our best to be aware of needs around us and serve those needs with whatever resources we have.

There’s no avoiding it, so let’s walk through this, together, hand in hand, learning along the way, loving those around us, and living our best life in the worst of times.

Temporary Time & Location Change

Due to what is going on in our local school board (DDSB) and across the province, we cannot use Robert Munsch PS for a few weeks. We’ll be gathering at 9am (instead of 10:33) and at 6775 Baldwin St. N. This may be our scenario for the next 2-3 weeks. Please keep updated through our Instagram & Facebook pages for details. Thanks for checking in. See you on Sunday!!!
